I am a C-class researcher (equivalent to Full Professor) at Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica in Mexico, member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores with level III (highest), and a member of the Academia Mexicana de Ciencias. I do research on Extragalactic Astronomy and Cosmology. I am the project scientist of the new generation panoramic continuum camera TolTEC  for the Large Millimeter Telescope, and also the director of the International Schools for Young Astronomers of the International Astronomical Union.

I do research,  lecture mostly at the graduate level, and train the new generation of scientists.  I am a coauthor of more than 145 refereed articles, with more than 7500 citations. I regularly participate in international scientific organizing committees and evaluation committes. I, furthermore, participate in about 20 outreach activities per year.
